Continuing on my watching spree, here comes a double episode
So, the Republic is trying to get a new ally in the dug. Anakin and Mace Windu are sent in.
These xenophobic, arrogant bastards. They obviously do not like them but their planet has oil, and oil is needed for a war effort. Anyway, they are fighting against the Separatists that have a gigantic army and so they EMP nuke them. Istg I found this hilarious cause you firstly watch clones randomly die... when they could have just waited it out and the dugs being even stupider. 5 of these dugs on some random ass creatures with electric sticks in their hands. 4 of them died before even reaching em... and the one that did, barely did anything. Oh how useful u are.
After the EMP, a ripple effect causes the earth to tremble and a giant sink hole pops up... then some boring stuff happens, they find out an extinct species still has 1 member that's alive and they fight over killing it or not. They almost lose the treaty they need signed too. Mace Windu also almost cuts the main Dugs head off. I have no idea how they still got that treaty signed honestly. The Dugs are idiots and try and kill the creature with "proven methods" aka by gassing it and bombing it, this fails, thing gets out of hole, kills a bunch of stuff before Anakin uses big brain to neutralize it. Oh yea, the thing can't be penetrated by a lighsaber so Palpatine wants it sent to Coruscant for analysis.
The good thing here is the foreshadowing of just how untrustworthy Palpatine is and how Windu essentially know it from the very start. Palpatine wants the creature dead while Windu wants to preserve the unique life form, but as soon as Anakin say "lIgHt rOd nUt go TrU d MoNsTr" Palpatines like - we should use this and research the creature.
Glad they added this honestly, let's us understand Mace more as someone that's constantly on the guard and isn't just broody for no reason.
Episode 2 tho, Palpatines brilliant idea, surprise surprise, backfired and he tried to kill the beast anyway cause it would be easier to get it's scales. Anyway, the good doctor convinces herself to kill it, fails, it gets away and man is it smart. It not only remembered Palpatine saying he wanted it dead, it also found his place on Coruscant without any prior knowledge and than proceeded to find the hidden passage they were running through AND catch their ship mid-air. I'm rooting for the beast honestly. MVP
Well... damit, they killed it, bombed it with gas until it died...and Palpatine wants to clone the beast... ugh...
So much of his dark side can be seen through the decisions he makes honestly this seems like a Trump situation to me...
Anyway, some plot lines here are pretty good, the whole indestructible thing is interesting, Windu being suspicious as well. And Anakin actually not being on Palpatines side for once, cause the other side was Padme lmao. A pretty good double-episode with plenty of characters. Only Ahsoka doesn't make an appearance from the main Jedi forces.
