Probably don't read the next part if you still trust your priest and are easily offended. Also, if he was willing to let you get your way just by sleeping with him, that would raise some serious questions in my head about his character. In my head, priests are someone you can trust but there's a line that should not be crossed and this seems like one of them. This just sounds like he took advantage of you. That's honestly not the type of person I would want to go to to learn anything, especially religion, from. Also, if you're catholic/christian then he's also quite hypocritical but I guess that's up to you to see.

To be honest, it's the internet and there's really only a limited number of things people say that are actually true. So anyone who believes anything that someone else on the internet tells them are fools. Lol is that a controversial thing to say on a forum setting? I guess my philosophy is: if you believe anything on the internet, then you deserve to be lied to.
But considering you consider each other friends, I guess there's a level of trust maintained between all of you so I can see them feeling hurt by it. But that said, are you planning to ever meet them in real life? If no, then don't worry about it. What they don't know won't kill them. However, if you do genuinely feel that these people are your true friends, then maybe come clean. They might feel upset by it but I'm sure they'll get over it. I mean, the only things (judging by what you have said) that you're lying about are about you and what you choose to share and not share is all up to you. Or you can just maintain the role. I mean, how often do you even talk about yourself? I doubt among all the other things you talk about, your identity is the main topic of interest. So just keep it to yourself and just move on. I bet most people here have told a lie or two. As I said before, what people don't know won't kill them.

Also, OLIVE OIL? Olive oil doesn't go well with popcorn (or most foods). It's too strong. Did it end up overpowering the popcorn?

I don't fully agree that " if you believe anything on the internet, then you deserve to be lied to." I think there are a lot of places where people do lie on the internet, but I don't imagine that being much of a factor in a place like KPS. Some of the things people say here about themselves are rather unflattering (myself included), so if they're going to lie about something, wouldn't they want those things to be flattering instead? I do believe people are who they say they are here. I've never personally heard something that made me go, "Yeah, okay. Sure."

But it is an interesting thought, so no, not personally upset or offended. Thanks for the great thread

I don't mean as in everything they say is a lie, but humans are bound to lie. They may say 9 true things and say 1 lie. Or it could be 9 lies and 1 truth. We can never really know who is on the other side of the computer, especially on a forum like this where the likelihood of us ever meeting is VERY low. Our screens are our masks so we can literally be anyone we want on here. So it's easy to lie about yourself and trick others.
Also, just because they're saying negative things about themselves that doesn't necessarily mean they're telling the truth. Maybe it's for attention or maybe that certain negative thing they have mentioned is true but other things they have said is fake. I don't know, I just don't believe everything people say. I guess in my mind, if there's no evidence then there's no way to know that it's true. Which is also why I believe that if you blindly believe everything you see on the internet, then it's also your own fault for being deceived. I guess it's a harsh way to see things but it also reflects my true feelings in this context and in real life where people come to me with misinformation that they heard off the internet which is my biggest pet peeve by the way!!

P.S. Everyone who reads this, I don't think people who say negative things about themselves on the internet are attention seekers. However, I have heard people say that they think they get more attention when they write negative things. Which is why I made that correlation above. I'm not saying everyone is doing it for attention so don't misunderstand please. I have no such thoughts about you and I don't think anyone else here does either.

And no problem @Bookworm. Honestly, I thought this thread would flop when I made it but I'm happy people are actually entering submissions. It's fun and although I'm mostly talking to myself, I feel like I'm having good discussions lol.
