if you remember my other thread asking about book recommendations then here's the result of what i actually bought that day !
i really wanted to get what people had recommended but with the french translation factor i just couldn't find any of them 😢
i went with classics to get out of my comfort zone and try out some new genres 🥰

first i got demian by hermann hesse (don't ask me to say the author's name outloud )
with this exact cover too it looks a little bit creepy

i took this one because i had heard of it through bts' concept (yes i am a mindless fan SO WHAT ) but it's actually explores some super interesting psychology concepts & i love love love psychology 🥰

second & third are related bc i got the illiad AND the odyssey (hwvr it's spelled in english) because i became a greek mythology girlie ever since my history teacher explained the class the whole story of the trojan war for no good reason

and i also got this random book for free ??? 😭😭😭😭 it was a promotion thingy like buy two get another one free

i did not read the back solely went on the vibes the cat gave me and honestly i prob should have read the back bc the summary makes it sound suuuuuper weird
it was free so doesn't really matter

so what do we think of these purchases 🥰 it was like 27$ AND i got a FREE tote bag

i have no idea what the cat thing is about even with the summary.... the girl is like jealous her husband is payinv more attention to the cat??? i think, i need to read it to know for sure. i bought three novels & got one free 🥳

In regard to the first book, I don't think that makes you a mindless fan 🥺

In regard to The Iliad and The Odyssey, um, yess, plss?? 😍 Want to give your history teacher a hug, too, haha >< Those are soo good. If you enjoy those, then the next time you go book-hunting (perhaps in a more international place, though ><), I'd suggest looking for an English-translated copy of The Kalevala, which is the national epic of Finland. It's basically a big book of Finnish mythology. And it's wonderful.

woaahhhh finnish mythology looks so cool !! i'll look at my library's website to see if they're not hiding a copy somewhere my history teacher was amazing haha a shame he taught only one grade

usually books in canada are between 20-30$ but since i bought classics i guess it was cheaper? as in these books are very common

It is! My Finnish friend actually does illustrations of the mythology, with explanations from his sister on what they're about. You should totally check that out in the meantime, hehe. And that is a shame! Still sounds great, though. My history teacher was like that, too. I think that's part of why history was one of my favourite subjects ^^

Woah, i just checked it out and your friend is incredibly talented! Him & his sister are the perfect balance of education while keeping the magic of the myths and the fun of learning through pretty art. History is always better when the one teaching is passionate about it
