I know people like this extended dog hugging video's but few actually understand what's going on. "Hugging" to dogs is a very domineering action. It restricts their movement and freedom. Actions only an Alpha would do. So when you watch one where the dog is clearly uncomfortable or tries to get a way it reflects the state of their relationship with the owner. The dog hasn't completely submitted to their owner. There isn't complete trust. This dog, being so comfortable and accepting of the extended hug is actually a wonderful thing. It means they 100% trust, accept, and love their owner! Another way a dog will show acceptance, trust and security is when they willingly, with out being prompted or command will roll on to their back and stay their displaying their tummy. This is separate from when you give them tummy rubs. There is no position more vulnerable to a dog than this. If you dog does this it also show's complete trust, love and devotion. My dog was horribly abused in her previous home and is really uncomfortable with hugging but she rolls on to her back all the time and is perfectly content to just lay there. Not sure if this is interesting to anyone...
