So you know how foreign members gets less lines in songs, and the reasoning is because they don't speak the language well? Well won't that argument just fall apart if the group does japanese or English versions of the songs? Like most of the members don't speak fluent japanese or English, well I mean all of them can definitely have "order a sandwich" fluent. So like if the Korean members who don't know much japanese or English can get more lines, why can't the foreign members get more lines in Korean songs,they just need to know how to pronounce those few lines well, us they communicate in Korean all the time so wouldn't it be fine?

The argument of x member's voice suits the song better, or x member is just a better vocalist, is a better reasoning of lines.

Well, if I'm not mistaken, J-Liners lines are dramatically increased in TWICE for their original Japanese songs. But yea, suitability would be a better factor.

There are a lot of members who aren't comfortabel with singing yet. Companies often debut idols with decent skills but room of improvement (every group has gotten better overtime, compare their debuts and cbs from a few years and you see changes). So often members with less lines get an agreement with their company to get less until they feel ready for it.
Also, a lot of members who write songs, of course, use a style that fits them, thus they get majority of lines so we get an unfair amount of lines between members (the recent "controversy" around this was Soyeon getting a lot of lines for OMG cuz she wrote the song).

That's what they did to slightly increase Cao Lu lines

She started saying only "come on" "rapirapa rapirapa" and then she started singing more complex stuff like

"Baby I don’t know Oh I don’t know"

"I don’t want you yeah
I don’t want you no more no more no more "

After that she eventually learned korean and got more lines though.

it depends on the group. most of the time the main vocal will still get a ton of lines in releases in other countries. the position plays a huge factor.
