The spelling “thicc” actually has historical basis (1 Viewer)

While it’s associated with more recent slang, 2 c’s in the word thick (instead of ck) is actually something present in much older spellings of the word. In Old English, thick was spelled as “þicce” (where þ makes a th sound). The reason thick ended up with a ck ending is due to Norman changes in English spelling to reduce confusion for French speakers, as well as to signal the existence of a short vowel right before it.

I can do the first part. The word black does come from an Old English word (blæc), but in Old English they didn’t use that word to mean black. Their typical word for black was sweart. Blæc didn’t end in -cce because it was a short k sound instead of an extended k sound.
