The Earth’s moon and sun agreed to change course on the week before the Great American Eclipse, leaving thousands of would-be visitors from out of state canceling reservations to visit Arkansas and other states in its path.

The sun and moon announced in a joint press release that they will instead veer farther east on Monday, April 8, changing the course of the path of totality to include the Florida panhandle and the Atlantic coastline of the U.S.

The last-minute decision drew the ire of hundreds of thousands of astronomy nerds who will now have to find something else to do this weekend.

The moon apologized to anyone who purchased a T-shirt commemorating the event.

Well that article says it's passing by, not hitting earth. And for an asteroid it's also not big really. So it makes sense that it's not considered a danger to us.
