yanno, the condition where you always fall for the temp groups without realizing they're temps. Tell me I'm not alone!

I have a rule that I don't stan temporary groups just because they're going to split apart in a few years. Either that or if I go into a group I'll try not to be unphased by their disbandment yk?

I'm really liking Zerobaseone and Tan for example but now knowing tan is temp I'm probs not going to stan...

me too, but a lot of the time I end up breaking it anyway bc so gullible

Usually they seemed to be formed through survival shows intentionally so the producers of the shows and labels laugh internally at how suckered [ fooled ] the fans were into believing they'd have long contracts. Or something like that, I'm assuming.
Examples ~ A.O.A., I.O.I. and others.

But, then, there are others who seem to disband them abruptly like S2 did to Hot Issue and what IRRIS's label did by not having a comeback for them after their July 2022 debut. For IRRIS, I won't be surprised if official news says they've disbanded.

In short, it seems these small, shady(?) labels seem to just want to mess around with everyone's time-- not just the groups' time.

To be clear ~ I don't watch the shows, I became aware of it happening in short video compilations made by general KPOP fans on YouTube.

Nah I feel you on that, a lot of groups' potential are wasted just because they got short contract times (AHEM WANNA ONE AHEM), I'd liked to see zb1 and tan and kepler to stay together but I'm already mentally preparing for disbandment even though zb1 and tan got a bit of time I think

i still haven't moved on from iz*one. they're still my best kpop group, no one ever replace them in my heart

I stan ZB1 and I love them, but people come and go in life and same goes for k-pop groups and their members. We'll get 2 and half years with ZB1 and I'm okay with that. They'll likely still be friends afterwards unless Wake One decides to eliminate them 1 by 1 hunger games style.

it has not happend to me yet Ifollow most of the news on kpop, so I usually get to know about new upcoming survival show groups and always check their contract durations, if its limited I try to stay away. So far I managed to stick to it!

The contract duration is usually announced during the show or latest when the group is formed, so at least this part is not as shady as you present it!

No....... I think that's still shady as hell because the producers of shows and labels wasted the groups' time in the end, even with the groups knowing either after the selection process or after being trained and formed.

Maybe it's just me who sees it that way.

Idols & trainees time and careers get wasted in so many ways, like when they are dungoned for years or trainees that train for many years and never deubt at all. In those show groups they sometimes at least get a chance they would not have gotten otherwise or a second chance for the already debuted idols, its not only negative

I got into ioi way after they disbanded so that wasn't too bad
for izone I knew they were temporary so I knew they were going to disband as well

plus I'm also not a very good fan thus I guess I don't get attached to them that tightly
