Simon Cowell: UK music needs the 'next Zayn'

The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent boss starts his search for the next big UK boyband in Liverpool.

New this will be a boyband I will NOT stan. For those who don't know why 1D broke up in the first place, it's because Simon overworked them and they burned out. It was nonstop album-tour-album-tour-album-tour-album-tour-album with basically zero downtime in between. At first I'd thought they were just being generous to us Directioners, but by like the third album, they'd started to lose their energy, and then ofc they broke up after album #5.

idk why I even told you all that. ig it's to say that what if it happens again with this new group? In part of the article, he says "we haven't had another UK group ever since 1D and that's crazy". Um, like... damn right - it's bc 1D is irreplaceable! You can't just copy them for the sake of having another UK group!
