the w korea event was so crazy and i remember not even hearing about it until a few months ago when i found out about it. It was sooo crazy for me to see these idols acting so idiotic and the lack of them donating or talking about the situation. In short, the W korea was an event made to raise breast cancer awareness. a majority of the idols were from very popular groups and vast majority of those idols were showing their true colors and what they really thought about the whole situation. aside from rei from ive and illit, no one else donated nor talked about the situation, and yet people still continue to see these idols as "nice guys" and people who "care" about their fans. Also stray kids quietly donating behind the scenes feels like the bare minimum, they could've spoken out about it. On this topic, some fans thinking that their favorite idols are nice guys or that you "know" them is funny to me...there are some idols that aren't nice people and don't like being around their fans. there are slip ups here and there of idols being rude or saying things you wouldn't expect them to say. not to mention that kpop idols have done and said a lot of racist stuff too. it's all out of genuine stupidity and ignorance. the fact that this keeps happening and idols aren't learning from their past mistakes also shows their true colors. kpop idols have no excuse to be this stupid and they shouldn't be treated as infants for not knowing right from wrong. idc, kpop is global now and companies need to hire international teachers to teach trainees and idols about these things.

like a party, yeah. that's exactly it. it showed their true colors at least, and no stupid pr apology could ever change what the fans have actually watched with their own eyes

I’m pretty sure most people would view a quiet donation as being more charitable than donating and being loud about it, because someone who donates and lets everyone know may do it not because they feel charitable, but because of the attention and praise they get. Not saying I think one is better than the other because I see benefit for both when it comes to celebrities, but I definitely wouldn’t view a quiet donation as any lesser and I doubt think most people would either.
