La Petit France is an island in Strasbourg, France, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was often swapped between Germany and France over the years. The area gets its name from a hospital built specifically for syphilis patients in the late 15th century. At that time, the area was under German rule, and Germans back then often called syphilis “the French disease”. Locals called the hospital “Little France” (but in their dialect ofc), and the name later came to mean the entire area instead of just the hospital.

At least unlike the English they probably just called it “the French disease” because lots of French people were there (since it’s a border town area) and happened to get the disease. While the English just called it “the French disease” because eww French people

Yes! Some places was Köln and I saw kölner dom (a church) and beautiful nature in these countries
