The kiwi and ostrich are two well known birds from Oceania. Here is a graphic that illustrates how big they are compared to each other (and a couple more birds of the family).

And here is a comparison of their egg sizes compared (along with a couple more bird species!.

That bird size difference vs the egg size difference is really insane The egg sizes are very similar to each other, but the bird size is miles apart. How do kiwis even function like that?

It's not shown but with it being the biggest in the chart, it's safe to assume the egg would have been bigger than the ostrich egg.
