Nottingham is a pretty well known city in England, famous for Robin Hood. It used to have a slightly different name though. It was named….Snottingham. Thankfully, the Normans had trouble with the sn sound and they changed it to Nottingham after taking over.

I never noticed that The name actually comes from a shortening of Norse Men, but without that context it does sounds a lot like normal
