TIL is short for today i learned/i just learned this today
Nyquil D contains an ingredient called pseudophedrine which through certain processes I won't detail for good moral conscience and safety reasons can be turned into methamphetamine. This is one of the primary reasons use is restricted and loose over the counter bottles aren't allowed in Korea. The other reason it is restricted is because it has dextromethorphan, a chemical mainly for cough suppression that is restricted in Korea due to the likelihood of abuse

I learned about this… Via an episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. The victim’s ex-best friend was using her son (the victim’s baby) to steal over counter pseudophedrine in corner stores so her boyfriend could make meth.
