BANG YE DAM’s First-Ever Solo Track ‘WAYO’ Revealed… Receives Praises From ROSÉ·SOMI·Yoon Siyoon·Stray Kids I.N

[OSEN=박소영 기자] Senior artists and actors who have listened to the song ‘WAYO’, the first-ever solo track by BANG YE DAM of YG’s rookie group TREASURE, made praises on the song.
On June 1st at 12 PM, YG Entertainment uploaded BANG YE DAM’s digital single spoiler video clip through their official blog.
The clip illuminated BANG YE DAM’s footsteps as a movie film would. The video spotlighted all the time BANG YE DAM has spent with music from during his childhood and from his trainee days. The time stopped in 2020 while BANG YE DAM’s silhouette appeared, beginning the spoiler interview for his song ‘WAYO’.
A total of 11 people including Yoo Heeyeul, ROSÉ of BLACKPINK, Kim Taegyun, Lee Sungkyung, Ahn Youngmi, Yoon Dohyeon, SOMI, ZION.T, Yoon Siyoon, Stray Kids, I.N, and Kim Saeron appeared as the interviewees and were put in awe by the song.
Yoo Heeyeol listened to ‘WAYO’ and was surprised as if he reminded himself back when he first met BANG YE DAM at SBS ‘K-Pop Star Season 2’ and stated, “He’s grown this much”. ROSÉ of BLACKPINK was also in awe and reviewed, “It really got into me”. Kim Taegyun, who praised BANG YE DAM as a ‘genius’ back in 2013 reviewed, “It’s strong”, while Ahn Youngmi kept on praising him by raising her voice, “It’s crazy”.
Actress Lee Sunkyung reviewed, “I would use the expression that he got more delicate”. Actor Yoon Siyoon left favorable reviews by stating, “The vocals are so pretty. It feels like the instruments are shyly supporting BANG YE DAM’s voice”.
I.N of Stray Kids, who is known to be close friends with BANG YE DAM, stated “It’s a song anyone can sing-along to. It’s great that I can now listen to his voice through music platforms”. Actor Kim Saeron revealed expectations by stating, “I would recommend the song a lot when it’s officially released”.
Senior artists also made praises regarding the music. SOMI reviewed, “Should I say captivating? It’s great to hear his captivating vocals”. Yoon Dohyeon who met BANG YE DAM through ‘K-Pop Star Season 2’ reviewed, “I was surprised that he is making debut with a song which a mature musician would present and was surprised once more since he pulled it off greatly”.
ROSÉ of BLACKPINK left a favorable review by stating, “I like the talk feeling he makes when he sings. It’s a feeling which anyone can understand from the beginning of the first verse”. ZION.T commented, “It’s a song that easily explains what kind of vocalist BANG YE DAM is”. He added, “I always thought how good it must be for a great singer to be acknowledged with his own song, and here it is”.
Yoo Heeyeol also commented, “I was surprised by its level of completion. It’s very sophisticated even though it’s his first time. More people will be surprised than I am”. He also added, “I look forward to the reviews that will say, ‘A song worth listening to came out in quite a while’”.
In the end of the clip, the instrumental version of ‘WAYO’ was teased for the first time, grabbing the attention of music fans. The calm yet beautiful melody and sentimental vibes raised the fans’ curiosities on what kind of story the song will contain.
The gift-like first solo track ‘WAYO’ by BANG YE DAM, which will warm up TREASURE prior to their upcoming debut in July, became a hot topic as YOON of WINNER participated in the writing and composing of the song, while LEE CHAN HYUK of AKMU participated in writing the lyrics of the song. YG’s talented producer FUTURE BOUNCE wrote·composed·arranged the track, while Andrew Choi was also credited as a composer of the track.

‘Debut’ BANG YE DAM of TREASURE Reveals Moving Poster of ‘WAYO’ with Sentimental Vibes

[동아닷컴=전효진 기자] BANG YE DAM of rookie group TREASURE revealed a teaser clip presenting the concept of his upcoming single ‘WAYO’, with its release date only four days ahead.
On May 2nd at 10 AM, YG Entertainment uploaded the moving poster of BANG YE DAM’s upcoming digital single ‘WAYO’, through their official blog.
The 40-second moving poster showed the clear blue sky with no clouds, which somehow presented an empty mood. BANG YE DAM then appeared riding a bicycle and sitting on top of a truck with his lonely and longing look, raising curiosities on the concept of ‘WAYO’.
The clip filled with BANG YE DAM’s abundant senses and emotions reminded the viewers of a youth film. The mournful lyrics which state, ‘Why why why / Why can’t I be without you / Why why why / Just tell me if I can’t be without you / Why can’t we be’ matched the mood of the video, stimulating the viewers’ ardent emotions. Furthermore, impressive instrumental with a calm electric guitar loop and a catchy melody raised anticipation on the upcoming track.

‘WAYO’ is part of TREASURE’s debut project and is BANG YE DAM’s first-ever solo track. BANG YE DAM of TREASURE, “My First-Ever Solo Song, Really Touches My Heart”

[뉴스1=고승아 기자] BANG YE DAM of YG Entertainment(YG)’s rookie group TREASURE revealed the behind story on recording his upcoming first-ever solo song.
On June 3rd at 9 AM, YG uploaded the D-2 poster of ‘WAYO’, BANG YE DAM’s digital single, through their official blog.
The revealed photo showed BANG YE DAM creating a lonely mood while sitting in a room. The phrase ‘D-2’ was placed with blur, leaving a sentimental afterimage as well as notifying that the release of ‘WAYO’ is two days ahead.
The upper right corner of the poster showed TREASURE’s logo. 12 dots gathered to create one treasure, implying that BANG YE DAM’s upcoming solo release is part of TREASURE’s full-scale debut project.
BANG YE DAM stated, “The sad melody and lyrics really touched me as soon as I heard the demo track”. He continued, “I focused on the lyrics and making my emotions stand out, rather than trying to sing well from beginning to end”.
‘WAYO’ is BANG YE DAM’s first-ever solo track and a surprise gift for the fans prior to TREASURE’s full-member debut upcoming in July. JUNKYU X ASAHI of YG’s Rookie Group TREASURE Reveal Logo Song Created By Themselves… ‘All-Around Idols’

[스포츠서울=김선우 기자] JUNKYU and ASAHI of YG’s rookie group TREASURE presented their sensible writing and composing capabilities while creating a logo song for their visual contents.

On June 3rd at 12 PM, YG Entertainment uploaded ‘A 3 Minute TREASURE – Logo Song Episode’ through their official blog and TREASURE’s official YouTube channel.

After gathering in the room, JUNKYU and ASAHI explained, “We’re here today to create the opening track for ‘A 3 Minute TREASURE’”. Prior to the actual songwriting process, ASAHI prepared a beat he made, which JUNKYU positively reviewed, “Isn’t it good? An amazing beat”.

JUNKYU and ASAHI put in their soft voices saying ‘TREASURE’ in the intro, as if they were whispering. The two members sang the same part in different tones, got on rhythm, continuing the songwriting process, while JUNKYU dealt with the program fluently, which presented his artist-like aspect.

They also wrote lyrics at a fast pace. When JUNKYU said things on his mind, ASAHI gave active feedback to create the perfect lyrics. The two members presented chemistry by assisting and reacting with what the other member wants, without even talking to each other.

When things were almost complete, JUNKYU began concentrating on the recording after saying, “I get a feeling”. JUNKYU and ASAHI put in their own unique and characterful vocals and showed off their charms as artists by filling up the empty parts with necessary elements. After completing the song, JUNKYU shared his thoughts by stating, “It was the first time working together, and was really fun”. ASAHI also added, “Please look forward to it”.

The end of the clip presented the full version of the logo song of ‘A 3 Minute TREASURE’ by JUNKYU and ASAHI. Along with the fresh and catchy melody, their joyous lyrics which stated ‘We’re cool people TREASURE / I hoped you would look at us / So we made this song / So you would look at us/ grabbed the people’s attention.

“It Really is Coming”… BANG YE DAM to Release Solo Single ‘WAYO’ Under YG’s Full Support on the 5th

[헤럴드POP=박서현 기자] The first solo track ‘WAYO’ by BANG YE DAM of YG’s rookie group TREASURE will be released in a day, grabbing the attention on not only music fans but the entire K-Pop scene.

Tomorrow(5th) at 6 PM, BANG YE DAM will release his digital single ‘WAYO’ and its MV. It holds a special meaning since it’s like a surprise gift for the fans prior to TREASURE’s full member debut.

Moreover, the attention is towards BANG YE DAM’s song itself. The melody and lyrics of ‘WAYO’ unveiled through cover videos by TAEYANG of BIGBANG and ROSE of BLACKPINK have captured the ears of many music fans.

BANG YE DAM fits the nickname, ‘genius vocalist’. He won second place at ‘K-Pop Star Season 2’ back in 2012 as an 11-year old kid. He then improved his talents in YG for 7 years. He has proved his potential from two senior artists of YG who are regarded to be more that ‘idols’.

BANG YE DAM of TREASURE, “Members Came to Visit the MV Filming Scene for ‘WAYO’… Felt Grateful”

[헤럴드POP=정혜연 기자] BANG YE DAM had time to introduce his new single ‘WAYO’.
On Naver V LIVE broadcasted on the 5th, TREASURE held a free debut special countdown live.
Regarding the song ‘WAYO’, BANG YE DAM introduced, “It’s a song which a boy who cannot accept a breakup shouts out his loneliness and emptiness with the phrase ‘Wayo’. Many people will feel empathy with the song”.
He continued, “I first heard this song a couple years ago. The song traveled and eventually came back to me, which I felt was destiny”. He added, “The first demo which I’ve received was a joyful track with tropical vibes. I recorded the guide joyfully, but I didn’t know it would end up being my song. It’s really something”.
On the question asking about the new arrangement, BANG YE DAM answered, “We arranged the song to a minimal R&B track so the listeners can focus on the lyrics and vocals”.
JIHOON and JAEHYUK asked BANG YE DAM, “Were there any episodes regarding the MV shooting”, and BANG YE DAM replied, “There were many. There’s a scene where tissue paper pieces blow, but there were too many of them, so the staff members had to repeat cleaning them up and filming”.
He also added, “I also felt grateful when the members visited the scene. The song itself is so sad that I was into the mood, but I got back into reality, thanks to the members”.
CHOI HYUN SUK praised BANG YE DAM by adding, “It was the first time watching a MV filming scene. I had the thought that its cool and majestic, but mostly I felt proud of YE DAM. I was proud that he overcame all the pressure he would’ve received”.
SO JUNG HWAN reviewed, “It was also my first time visiting a MV filming scene, and YE DAM acted like an actor. His acting skills were up there. I praise him for that and thought it’s something I should learn”. HARUTO also made the scene heartwarming by stating, “I was happy to see his face become relaxed when the members arrived”
