Not going to celebrate his death however when you dedicate your life to spreading hateful rhetoric then don't be surprised if someone tries to do something about it and without knowing if his public persona was just a grifting act then I only feel sorry for his children having their father taken like this since the other adults in his life including his wife are fully aware of the person he was and the kind of messages he dedicated his life to spreading including one that dismisses his own death as just a necessary casualty to uphold the right to bear arms.

Now his wife is going to have to explain why Daddy isn't in the picture anymore to her two young kids. I know if I were to lose my dad to a gunshot, or to any other cause of death for that matter, I'd be extremely devastated!

Yes, absolutely, it is extremely sad, and it is extremely sad that anyone should feel elation or relief at the death of another.
However, this is a consequence of a political climate that Charlie Kirk himself had a part in creating. He himself said that he didn't believe in empathy, that it was "damaging" to have empathy.
Political violence is a horrible thing, but words themselves can be violence, especially when they are used as pretext for physical violence. Or if they excuse or defend that violence. Which is also something he did. When people like him suggest that maybe gay people should be stoned to death, nobody calls it what it is: Political violence, the same political violence that got him killed in the end.

The current situation in the western world is as bad as it has ever been in my lifetime. Fascism is descending over us. I don't mean it's coming. it's here. In some of our countries, they are building concentration camps for migrants and refugees. They're trying to erase trans people from public life. They're stoking up racial division and hatred to violent effect. They're rescinding human rights laws and upending traditional political norms. They're carrying out a genocide in the middle east.
That is the context in which the current spate of political violence occurs. Human life has become cheap, because people like Charlie Kirk made it cheap. That doesn't make it okay. It's grim. But I'm not going to tell anyone that they should grieve someone who actively tried to make the world a worse place, and who advocated for the deaths of others. We don't need those kinds of people in the world. We need a better world, but we won't get it if one side can unilaterally impose violence on the other, and is otherwise shielded from the consequences of the violence they inflict.

If we can be an intelligent species, then perhaps his children will be told the truth, that their dad isn't the in the picture anymore because he decided that he wanted to advance an agenda of persecution and hatred, and that made him a target of the same in return. That if you live by the sword, you will die by it. So it is better to be kind and inclusive, even on an utterly selfish level.

My condolences to the children shot at a Colorado school while Kirk was actively dismissing gun violence. Kirk actively spent his time, money, and resources creating a violent, hateful world and was perfectly fine with everyone else dying for it.

And if your dad would have died to a gunshot then this guy would have said it was a necessary casualty to uphold the second amendment just like he did about innocent children who died in a school shooting so while yes he died in a tragic way however I guarantee that unless it happened to someone he personally cared about that he wouldn't care at all if this happened to anyone else
