A really, really long time ago (literally 2020), once upon a time, I didn't like Twice. And that was the same year I got into KPOP
2020 was a rough year.

Long story very short was Jihyo. Jihyo changed my mind.

Okay, maybe that was too short. I feel in love with Jihyo's freshness and voice and also the song Fancy helped me realize that Twice releases really great songs, but some of the stuff said by the toxic members of the only fandom that I was in, stigmatized the like for Twice.

LMAO well, I became a KPOP fan summer of 2020 during quarantine, and for a while, I was only a blink. There was no other group I was interested in, I would just listen to Blackpink and watch their content. And because of that, when I first started interacting with the community, I was surrounded by blinks, a lot of whom were toxic. So there would be a lot of comparisons between Twice and Blackpink on who the better dancer is (Momo v. Lisa), the prettier visual is (Tzuyu v. Jisoo), who the better main vocalist is (Jihyo v. Rose), etc. And then the Once v. Blink fan wars. I just didn't have a good picture of Twice overall at that point even though I haven't listened to their songs or actually explored the group.

I wasn't like a very vocal thrice but I didn't like Twice because I was very close-minded and went with the crowd lol. Also, keep in mind that I haven't gone through the maturity of being on forums for a while, and being in high school, I was still a transitioning 8th grader into 9th grade and was only 14.

But when I actually branched out, I became obsessed and I remember Fancy being the first Twice title track that I listened to all the way through and thought more than "That wasn't so bad!" I loved it so much that I was like "not stanning Twice is stupid" and became obsessed.

And even tho I was still a blink and love Lisa, I remember both Jihyo and Twice climbing up to my #1 spot for my ult bias/group until they were equal for the longest time. And then Blackpink had that super-long musical hiatus in 2021-2022 and I got bored so Twice replaced them in both categories.

But don't get me wrong! I'm still a blink :P

I'm glad you were able to change your mind and cut ties with those toxic people and can now enjoy both groups!
