Most of the oldest buildings in Dresden, Germany are found in the new city, while the buildings in the old city tend to be newer. This is because the firebombing of Dresden during WW2 was so devastating that almost none of the old city remained. Some major buildings were rebuilt to look like their past buildings (like the Frauenkirche), but the buildings themselves are post WW2, even if they look old and were designed a long time ago
