Venus flytraps have hairs in the mouth that send impulses to the plant when touched. Instead of snapping shut whenever it receives an impulse, it waits for two impulses to make sure the thing in the mouth is a fly rather than just a water droplet or other inedible item. More than 2 impulses can also tell the plant to make digestive enzymes and such. All this is because a Venus flytrap needs a lot of energy to snap the jaws shut.

Sadly a lot of people toy with it by rubbing their finger inside the mouth area causing it to close and hurting the plant.
I bet the venus flytrap is one of the only plants who also is able to "move" that fast visibly to the human eye. (maybe another cool fact to look into? Which plant moves the fastest, that we as humans can actually see it move live)
