Jellyfish has explained that Hongbin is to permanently halt his twitch and to temporarily halt his other celebrity activities in order to reflect. Additionally, they will start to take legal action against defamation of VIXX members.

May 1, Jellyfish Entertainment made a post on VIXX’s official fan cafe to update fans on Hongbin’s future activities as well as announce legal action against those posting malicious comments.

The statement from the agency comes after a Twitch stream by Hongbin on February 29, during which he made some comments about other idol groups. Following the broadcast, both Jellyfish Entertainment and Hongbin apologized.

Here is the latest statement from Jellyfish:

"Hello, this is Jellyfish Entertainment.

We are writing regarding Hongbin’s future promotions as well as the measures we are taking against malicious comments about VIXX and spreading of false information.

Regarding Hongbin’s future activities, we have decided, after discussions with Hongbin, that the Twitch streams will be discontinued. In addition, his activities as a celebrity will also be put on hold for the time being, and we will take some time as we prepare so that he can see fans once again.

Regarding malicious comments toward VIXX, including sexual harassment, spreading of false information, personal attacks, and defamation, we have continuously checked the posts and are currently speaking with a law firm about filing a lawsuit. There will be no leniency against those who have posted or spread defamatory comments about our agency artists, and we will be taking every action available to us by law.

Thank you to all of the fans who love and support VIXX, and we will do our best to protect the rights of our artists. Thank you."

Ngl, I think it is completely unnecessary to punish Hongbin further. This is a done deal. He apologized, Jellyfish apologized, hell, even the other members apologized. This is just overdoing it. And to halt his twitch permanently? That's like the only content we got from Hongbin!!!

For fudges sake, it was proved 10 ways from sunday that what he said was taken out of context. Furthermore if you are going to start looking at punishing drunk people on social media you're going to have to start punshing A LOT of kpop stars. What Hongbin did was not wrong just people used it out of context. He wasn't even three sheets to the wind.

i didn't agree with some things he said there but he apologised for it some time ago already so making him halt his activities over 2 months after the situation makes no sense. but i guess it's good that they're doing something with the malicious comments.

I feel really bad for him. The whole situation was blown way out of proportion and most people who hated on him did it without even watching the video in the first place. Even if he said some stupid things, he apologised anyway. This is just way too much. I hope he's doing okay.
