Same as you, The Great Gatsby. I had actually finished it way before the rest of the class (since we were reading it out loud in class throughout a few weeks) and so did another girl and we just started fangirling over the book with our English teacher every day until the rest of the class finished. Even while someone was reading and it got to an intense or surprising part all three of us would just kind of look at each other like- it was fun

we mostly had to read old polish books, most of them were terrible and having a bad literature teacher didn't help but there was one i liked, it was called "lalka" which means "the doll" and it was high quality drama let me tell you. so it's about a guy named wokulski who's in love with this woman named izabela (the thing is he barely knows her - he saw her in some theatre and it just happened like that lmaoo). this man did everything for her like when her family went broke this guy worked to pay for everything she wanted. this guy was obsessed with her, it got to the point where after seeing her f*cking her cousin on a train the guy tried to kill himself and no one even knows what happened to him in the end. there are like 39475 characters and plotlines here but this was the main one and it was just so entertaining that to this day me and my friends are having conversations about this book. there is a tv show based on that too and it's SO GOOD. i believe in lalka supremacy

TKAM is a good book, I didn't have to read it for school since it wasn't in french curriculum obviously but its a v good read
