Yesterday my sister and I were talking and she said something along the lines of "be glad you weren't born lactose intolerant and can drink milk". So I laughed and said that my milk allergy I had would disagree. Apparently this was big news to her, that I had an allergy to milk at one point. But when I really thought I was gong crazy was when she asked my dad, who said he wasn't sure if I ever had one Thankfully when we asked my mom my mom confirmed I was diagnosed with having a milk allergy for some time. Everyone else were just forgetful or somehow didn't know and thought all the milk substitutes we got then were for the fun of it.

You definitely need to test it again and drink some milk.

Oh I was already tested a few years later and they said it seems to have gone away. I drink dairy often now

if I drink normal milk it gives me stomach pains which hurt a lot.

Oh I wasn’t lactose intolerant, I was allergic Both are no fun though. But I outgrew my allergy

Yep. Intolerance usually means you lack something to digest certain foods. Oftentimes it’s less serious and for some they can have small amounts of the food without issues (it depends though). It’s centered on the digestive system. When you have an allergy that means eating or breathing or touching something will cause your body to have an immune system response. It sees the allergen as an invader and can cause a variety of different reactions. It can be more dangerous than an intolerance, such as having anaphylaxis for even a small amount. So for example, with a milk allergy, lactose isn’t the issue. The issue is the protein in the milk instead. This kind of covers all kinds of tolerances and allergies, but ofc severity level and reactions vary from person to person for both.
