Well that’s depressing (2 Viewers)

I was reading more about the victims of the Holocaust (yes I’m still thinking about that book) and I started reading about gay men during the Holocaust. Yes, there were more Jews that suffered as a result of the Holocaust than gay people by far, since Jews were the primary target, but the sad part about gay men is that after the war, they received no reparations, and some who were imprisoned in typical prisons during Hitlers reign were not released after the Holocaust until they had finished their prison sentence. A smaller number of gay people were also sent to concentration camps, where they faced various tortures, were used for experimentation, ect. A higher percentage of gay men died in concentration camps than other groups. And for years after the Holocaust, they were not considered victims and were not allowed to speak out on their experiences. That to me is just so messed up, imagine suffering so much for so long and unlike others, seeing no benefit to the allies victory, freedom, or acceptance after it was over for so many years. So messed up

Damn its so hard to believe that many who were twins, jews, disabled, mentally, gypsies, other races suffer through a lot
It must be so upsetting to witness such pain from reading but it's such a harsh event it saddens me why it happened yet in modern world
I read about the holocaust and I tell you its so disturbing and horrified to read and listen to what many went through
Many unfortunately don't get heard
So many lives tooken away
This also triggers me in a way that I'll always know
