What is the book about? And oohhh what do you paint?

It's the Firebird trilogy by Claudia Gray - travelling through different dimensions and seeing how you and the people you know are different than they are in your own dimension. Sometimes the person could be dead. The main character visits different dimensions for a different reason each book. I'm about to read the last one - in this one she has to save all of the other dimensions, including her own, from a pretty powerful dimension that wants to destroy all the other ones.
