...to be absolutely fair to her, the show did get a significant boost in viewers because of lockdowns in china but what she's said was super distasteful imo, she's basically saying "thank you covid for happening because I'm now richer than before since my survival show was successful because of covid"??? even if that were the case, she as an experienced artist should've known better than to say that; you don't have xiao zhan thanking mtxt for writing homoerotic fanfiction of the smiling, proud wanderer
I do realize she did thank medical personnel later for their work during the pandemic but I don't think those statements cancel out

yeah, I just wish she was smarter about her words (she's been around for a while, she should've learnt to be by now) because her fanbase is wild, easily one of the most disliked fanbases across chinese fandom for a reason
like I know I joke about armys from time to time but her fandom acts truly unhinged at times, and she never bothers to keep them in check which is what I actually dislike about her; I remember yu shuxin and xu jiaqi's fans having a big fanwar when qcyn2 just finished airing because of ranking issues so they immediately posted pics of them together with one of those cutesy captions as a sign to cool things off, but the way lyx never engages in that is what really made me sideye her and not just her fanbase
