I'm going to the zoo on Friday, and we're planning to meet when I would normally eat lunch. I tried buying a protein bar, but I think they changed the formula or something because it was disgusting.

Any ideas for food I can take in the car with me that won't melt, need a microwave, etc.?

We used to carry sandwiches when we went to the zoo
But our sandwiches are like soft buns so they're squishable and don't get that soggy easily

I think some stores over there will have a similar version (I guess probs more like a milk-y bread)

i personally love these small pringles packages, they're not the best option economic-wise because they cost like 2/3 of the regular can despite being not even a half of the size but i still buy them whenever i'm outside

Walnuts, ritz crackers (the ones with the cheese), dried fruit (I especially love dried kiwi), pretzels, “zero sugar” fruit gummies, raisins. Sometimes I will also make a homemade trail mix with nuts, cereals, raisins, etc (and marshmallows if I need a sweet).

These are my favorites right now

I know a lot of people who are obsessed with those protein chips. I've had their protein cookies and they tasted like protein powder compacted into cookie form, so I've been, uh, not eager to try the chips.

right and they usually tend to be in smaller stores instead of supermarkets so they're naturally more expensive

there's a variety of potato chips that you can't find in supermarkets
lots of types of jellys
lots of different sugary snacks and biscuits
quite a variety of different jerky but asian/chinese variants
