When I cook for myself and for myself only i make stuff like ramen Im currently craving egg drop soup though. I almost never make it but I want it now so close enough?

my friend taught me the "tourist" and it really slams on a budget.

Shin ramen (or any other spicy ramen, buldak works too), crack an egg, and two slices of white american cheese on top.

I'm not sure about the connotations of doing that but the flavor is really awesome.

YEP!!

its like egg-corn soup? its not that simple and it's hard to describe what it really is.

It's a starch thickened corn soup (sometimes made with chicken broth) where eggs are dropped in and allowed to form ribbons.
There's so many variations because it's really easy to make, so a lot of Chinese restaurants had some variation of it.

I likely regularly had a Hongkong variation which was basically as described, but made with chicken broth, and wasn't starch thickened, and fit in nicely in the 港式 cuisine, despite egg drop soup likely originating from Northern China.

EDIT: PLS READ: corn seems to be optional.

Yeah, you drop eggs on the floor then scoop them up and add them to soup

Not really, you drop the eggs in the soup rather than on the floor it’s kinda like a thick scrambled egg soup? In the sense that you mix as you add the eggs so it makes strips sort of of cooked eggs.
