It's an evident trend that certain songs are released with easier choreographies. My personal opinion is that this is due to the rise of TikTok and its challenges. Companies opt for easier and less technically demanding dances so that a challenge can be posted on TikTok where other people would dance to the track, causing the track to potentially go viral. Naturally, not all groups do this, good luck with TikTok challenges by ATEEZ, A.C.E or ONEUS, if one occurs. On the other hand, one might argue that the dance is simplified in order to improve vocal delivery. I don't think that's the case, because we see the same amount of pre-recorded vocals and lip-synced material as before. I miss times when you had to put an effort into choreography and spend days perfecting it. Nowadays, you can learn most of the chorus within 30 minutes to an hour.

They probably are catered to TikTok, which is sad because not everybody uses it. Maybe it's also the majority of the world is in and out of lockdown, there aren't many proper dance covers about that involve more than one household. I remember when Kokobop came out people were out and about posting videos on their own doing a part of the dance in random places which made them less boring looking.

I'm still kinda angry those two girls posted the choreo from Apink's Dumhdurum on TikTok without crediting them too and people thought it was them and not Apink that originally did it.

it don't really matter and i honestly do not care
but i do think it is a waste if most groups in future keep it too simple
all the hard trainings for all these years for nothing then if you ask me
