What do you think about schoolgirl concepts in kpop? (1 Viewer)

I have had this topic in mind for a few days now because I was looking at older kpop songs to find something to play in my headphones on a long car ride and I eventually settled on the After School New School EP. I noticed something though. Not that it was my first time thinking of it but something connected and clicked in this moment. I rewatched the Ah! music video (the album’s title track) and it just made me feel so weird. Like I thought the combination of the sultry vibe and the highschool setting was just not right in every way. It’s a shame because it’s a fine song on its own but the video makes me a little queasy when I focus on the setting and context. That’s why I decided I’m going to make a full YouTube video dedicated to dissecting After School’s earlier concept and why for reasons mentioned and other additional ones I took issue with it. I know some people might think this is beating a long dead horse that PLEDIS has already shot in the brain by now but they’re definitely still relevant in peoples minds because whether it’s Nana or Orange Caramel or Bang! I definitely still see people talk about After School especially as part of the “kpop used to be so much better and cool years ago” convo people have these days. Before I posted the video I wanted to get people’s opinions and how they might individually feel on something like this so I decided to make a poll that you can answer and I intend to feature some answers in the YouTube post.
