It still has to leave the distribution center, arrive at my local post office, be loaded onto the vehicle, and make its way to my street. Seems like a tall order, especially considering what hours are considered working hours. It's currently 5:37 for reference, they have 3:23 minutes

It probably has left the distribution center my local USPS carrier is horrid with updates.

I would not be surprised if it gets delayed until tomorrow. I think that happened to me several times with USPS and Amazon.
Especially if you consider how many deliveries they had to hit for the day.

My guess is, since it is USPS, most likely it will be sent to you tomorrow and your package likely will be kept in the office.
And, as far as I know, I don't think they deliver at night.
They seem to just do it the following business day, which in your case would be Saturday, either in the morning or afternoon hours.

Unfortunately I was supposed to have a package arrive this Sunday from ups but it updated with a sorting delay saying it was missorted. It’s halfway across the US now. I’m praying it gets here on Sunday but idk at this point 💀

No, they did try to deliver it this morning but failed so I have to go to the post office on Monday to pick it up
