What do you think could be the factors and reasons for why some groups just do way better in Korea, some internationally and some so great they do well in both Korea and internationally?

Like some groups just get so much hype internationally yet sadly is barely able to sell the seats for their fan meets, some groups where international fans don't even know exists do better in Korea than the ones that they hype so much, and some groups are just so popular that Korea hypes them as much as international fans do, what could be the reason and what makes the groups have difference in popularity in different areas?

Cute concepts are more appealing in Korea, stronger concepts internationally. To hit both, they need to release content for both. I’d illustrate this with BTS example from 3 years ago when they released Not today (appealing for international public) and Spring day (for Korea). Also the interaction with fans is very important

I'll never be able to figure this out. Seems like every kpop group ever has a small but dedicated following in the west. But in Korea it's a flip of the coin.
I guess it's because of the rise of social media but Korea on the other hand though, idk what makes a group popular there. Like do agencies have to arrange more performances at universities or sth. Or does Naver not recommend smaller groups as much as YouTube does 🤔
