What do you think of shorter songs? (1 Viewer)

Since it seems to be coming a trend in the past few years, what do you think of it?
Is the song fulfilling enough to you? Do you think it’s missing something? Ect…

I like some shorter songs but I think with all of them I usually always just want a little bit more from it.
Dumb Dumb by Somi is a song I really love but its not even 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

Dice by NMIXX is 2 minutes and 46 seconds but they don’t start their lines until 16 seconds in. Again I like both songs but I think they could be even better if they weren’t so short.

I have mixed feelings. There are short songs I love and wish were longer but there are also short songs I hate that could've been shorter (I'm looking at you Jack Harlow). I think most songs should aim for the 3 minute mark.

i tend to prefer shorter songs (2-3 mins) since u can get through it faster and they usually arent as repetitive.

and this is an unpopular opinion but i dont like when they have those breaks where its just instrumental lol, same with slower songs

I find I tend to like shorter songs but also longfor more so I just loop them

I didn't even notice. I don't particularly care for the length of a song, I just be listenin stuff and I couldn't tell u the length of it at all

I also think that they should aim for a 3 minute mark... For title tracks I guess it's fine if they aren't too long but I love a good 4:30 minute ballad hahaha

honestly i hate it, if a song is not even 3 minutes long i'll probably forget it and not listen to it much

Yeah, I think songs shorter than 2:30 are TOO short. But on the other hand, I tend to only prefer longer songs if most of it is singing, like The Locket by Lauren Alaina, which is just over five minutes long. If it's a song that's half instrumentals (Outer Space / Carry On by 5 Seconds of Summer [6:39]) or if it has repetitive lyrics (Sign of the Times by Harry Styles [5:40]), I either skip it or look for a radio edit. So I guess I prefer them somewhere in between.
