If companies starts to take actions instead of threatening I am pretty sure those losers would stop before getting sued and exposed.

If only companies knew what they where posting was tactless and vulgar articles rather then actual news.

I'm still not sure what it will be in practise, so i don't rly know if it will be positive or negative thing In general it's good they are thinking of sth to go harder on hate comments, at least those telling people to kill themselves are clearly hate.

I think it's a nice idea but the point flew over their heads
And would Sulli really want it? If she wanted to get nice comments in her life, she would've been able to be the "ideal" idol if she wanted to in my opinion, but she lived how she wanted to, she was strong minded and herself the whole way through. Instead of a law for this kind of thing, I think more attention should be paid to mental health and how important it is, how idols can be given the support they need. Depression is an actual illness, actual help is more necessary than a law.

I'm not familiar with the specifics of this new proposal but that would be one of my concerns.

South Korea's established anti-defamation laws already face criticism from free speech standpoints in that they criminalize defamation with the laws written in such a way that critics argue they are utilized by the government to quell descent.


Specifically, the law includes a "public interest" language that long story short allows technically "true" statements to be found as defamation if the defendant can't prove they were made in the never defined "interest of the public".

From what I've read the lawsuits filed often end up being thrown out or end in acquittals, but in practice the their very filing are used in a "nuisance lawsuit" manner that in effect has a chilling effect on government criticism, both in the media and among the citizenry.

My fear would be that this new legislation would similarly be exploited to stamp out legitimate criticism or speech in the name of defence of "harrassment".


But again, I haven't read the proposal so perhaps my worries are missplaced or unfounded.

Exposing the photos of those who leave malicious comments will help. Public shaming of those scums will help. Let them know how it feels to be ridiculed in public.

I know at one point SM was about to go to court over a comment about Sulli, but she stopped them after learning that the commenter went to a good university and their future career would be impacted by the criminal record so she stopped them
Getting to the root of the problem will be more helpful in the long run than hacking away all the negative comments

Apparently some cowardly creature posted a hate message at this point, insulted her and said it would be better for the world if she would kill herself. Look at her face and what these cowards did to her.




Look at her face. I barely knew her at that point but I still felt really bad for her.

I don't know if this law will work but something needs to be done.
They should have done something years ago.
