to be fair, a lot of parents name their kids after something theyre a fan of; fictional characters, their favorite singer or actor, historical figures... its just a bit weird when its an obviously ethnical name but lay isnt so as long as they (and their partner if they have one) like it i think its fine?

Yeah I agree. Lay is a nice name (and imo if the kid's gonna ever get shit for his name it would be because Lay's chips lol). If they went right ahead and named their kid Yixing, it would be a bit of a yikes. And do remember, k-pop fans have done worse (an army named their granddaughter Cassandra Namjoon, a Daragon shipper went right ahead and named their kid smth Daragon related 💀💀)

Kid's a cutie though, hope he grows up healthy and happy.
