For me it’s certain spices, such as cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamom, and also cheese. Can’t go wrong with cheese

Also garlic and chilies. I never understood when someone puts 2 cloves of garlic for a recipe, especially pastes and marinades.
That does absolutely nothing for me. Each dish that calls for garlic needs to have at least half a head of garlic.

Someone who gets me!! We get these jars of garlic from Costco that is prechopped and i use a good 3-4 heaping spoonfuls when everyone else used 0.5-1
