I learned to make some kind of ... sounds (you can barely call it music) with something that looks like the on-board computer of the Imperial Death Star. At first I was afraid that I could destroy a galaxy when hitting the wrong button.

But no Alien race complained so far - maybe because there were no survivors?

i dont really know my thing is digital art at the moment! i tried crochet when my sister started (i flopped), i am bad BAD BAD bad at sports, my handwriting is ass, i tried making a collage with my sister (i flopped again), i tried painting a gift for my sister irl (i gave up)

I’m working toward this, but I found out that I can get close. I can tap my toes on the ground currently. idk if that counts as much because I didn’t work much on it yet, I just never tried it because I thought it would be too hard. But it is new still in a way.

I’ve also improved my oversplit. It looks something like this now. Still can’t hold it at the max for very long, but for some time I can do it.

I think a big part of hobbies is that they're generally a thing you like doing, even though you aren't very good at it lol. It takes a while to get to the "clearly better than average" part, so you have to like doing it even if the outcome is objectively not that great.

I can't crochet either, but I do knit. I usually make kitten blankets and donate them to a local animal shelter, because it's not like the cats care if the blanket is bad. For sports, I don't do group sports, but I go to fitness classes, like yoga, weight lifting, and dance (the instructions are things like "put on opera gloves, go shopping, you're a scary elevator!" so it's impossible to feel bad at it). I find that it's easier to have only myself for comparison, and it's fun getting strong.

I have a friend who likes to get craft kits, because it's a more guided way to try a bunch of different hobbies without fully investing in all the things, like embroidery, making those little book nook things, terrariums, crystal growing, resin art... Her partner likes to make YouTube videos talking about Pokemon (I am one of his 12 subscribers lol). I've been contemplating trying cookie/cake decorating, because I really like those soothing videos of people frosting things, but the downside is I don't want a whole cake around my house either...

Anyway, hopefully this gives some ideas!

You know, it is getting to the time of year where I can pretend I'm totes one of those people who's always baking for the holidays.

@passionfruit those are definitely easy to start with, in their most basic form. And you could also expand one you get more into it. Not that there’s something wrong with sticking to paper, but you could also use other media, like decorate a backpack on a collage style or something. It would need basic sewing knowledge but probably achievable. I do scrapbooking myself, and I enjoy it Though I can be a bit perfectionist

one time i painted on a bottle cap and it was nice and came out well! i could make some pins for my backpack as well now that you mentioned them THANK YOUUU
