I mean, I always thought it was an individual fitting a very defined stereotype & not unveiling their real self with no personality, trying to offend the masses to garner attention.

I want to see people's differing views on the subject since @Lowkey considered me a troll in the beginning while @LuhansGreenHair thought I had a personality, which didn't make me a troll.

So, what is a "troll" to you?

I just see it as someone whose purposes is so offend as many people as possivle and try to get a rise out of them, wether its by saying controversial things or acting dumb or whatever.

Troll imo is more those people that are offensive without standing out too much

Which is why I dont really consider broken a troll for example.

If you see her twitter, you'll see she's genuine.

Nobody goes as far as using a social media like twitter just for trolling all day...

I mean, you can but it's pointless, since in twitter it's you vs the world.

That xxxtentacion and twitter orbits for example was trolling.

Blink or army twitter, not always.

A very mysterious person who gets on everybody's nerve and keep themselves anonymous. Trolls are of many kinds. There are also trolls who do it for fun and are likeable like @Chahee. And then there are trolls who take it to a whole new level and even touch sensitive subjects like some alpha males on the forum which must be not named.

I find being mean funny, Its some personality trait i think

I can control to a certain extent, but I did some mistakes because of it in the past - even went overboard on an anon, not to say some small troubles irl.

Sometimes its better to just accept it and find the best way to deal with it. There's always a limit, people that always mocks the same artist on every opportunity... It starts to become an obsession and hurts the attacker without them even noticing.

To me trolling is at its essence simply someone who says or acts in a way deliberately fashioned to provoke a response or rise from an audience.

I see it as a bit of performance art.

Which many levels of sophistication and shades of technique.

I also don't see it in the purely negative fashion.

There's a fascination to be had in the best trolls whose trolling takes on the form of a humorous dance with the audience.

I also don't see personality as any sort of inhibitor to trolling. On the contrary, I see the best trolls as those that inhabit an engaging and distinct persona.

One of my favorite trolls is @seulgisabs from Allkpop. She swears she's not a troll but in my mind she fits my conception of a good natured, funny, playful troll.

She's never exactly overtly mean. Her trolling is always light and playful and she peppers it with self deprecation and other soft elements. But she's still intending to "play" with the audience.

In many ways I see tolling as a sort of modern conception of the Trickster archetype. They can run the gamut from more benign or playful to more malevolent.

I agree Lel. I used to enjoy these scenarios she used to paint with Big 3's CEOs. Pretteh darn funneh.
And there is another one, not as popular but amusing nonetheless, that I like.
