I don't get the hype for the upcoming Wicked film. I liked the book, but the idea of taking a ~2.5 hour long play and turning it into two nearly 3 hour long movies and all the consumerism that goes along with that (buy makeup! and books! and posters! and a hair dryer!) is like this calculation to me makes it seem probable it will be very disappointing in at least one way.

Since no one answered this: she's an American pop singer known for borrowing heavily from drag/camp culture. She really came into the spotlight in the last year, after she had a string of modest hits from her most recent album. So I think there's a lot of interest in what comes next, since it's not just one song that did relatively well, but several.

Personally, I think she has some fun songs, but she's kind of terrible at this celebrity thing, in that she wants to be the artist Chappell Roan, but then she regularly addresses topics (in a pretty clunky way, tbh, she really needs media training) as Kayleigh, the real person. So it's become kind of this whole thing that people are watching her, in real time, fumble through figuring out how to be a celebrity. So the end result is that she both has very critical antis, and related, very defensive fans.

Las Vegas is the least pleasant city I've ever been to.
Beef really isn't that great. Sure, a good steak tastes good, but so many other foods and dishes taste far better, are more interesting, and don't require the death of an animal and/or the absurd environmental tax that cows require. Cheese is delicious though.
