I get what you're saying, and expressing your opinion whether positive or negative should be encouraged. I wouldn't call that bashing though. Bashing takes things a step further imo, comes from a malicious place where you're not merely being honest but looking to trigger/upset fans deliberately for your own amusement. Saying a group's song sucks should be fine, wishing for and celebrating their failure is kinda unnecessary tho.

I hated that comeback, the song was terrible = opinion.
I hope your faves flop/are ugly etc. = bashing.

For me, though, I accept both types of opinions. And I do understand that its an unpopular view. I just think that its totally fine to think someone is ugly or get annoyed and not even wanna see certain a group anymore. I think these are natural feelings.

In society we are expected to only think nice thoughts and only have nice emotions and only say nice words - especially if we are female - and i think its very artificial. I would rather someone just tell me what they really think. No matter what it is, I feel that I can handle it. Now if the opinion is racist or something then I'll get upset. But if someone just thinks my bias is ugly ok damn that is not a problem lol More bias for me lmao
I'm a huge fan of bambam and there were many years when i was told "girl he is ugly." I would just laugh and say "you dont see what i see." to me he was always very very handsome. nowadays my friends say he's handsome but i couldn't always enjoy that. I had to soldier on alone for quite awhile lol But I didn't feel like I needed to start a fight or silence their opinions. Them not thinking he was handsome didn't make him any less handsome and it never will

I get what you mean, AGAIN. But still. I don't get why people have to bash groups because you don't like them. Ranting is fine, but going into a public forums that is specifically for praising groups and such to do that. They also are completely against bashing here. Says it in the rules. I'm not saying you are doing this but it's a growing issue in this forum.

well if someone is bashing in a forum where its not allowed then of course they need to stop and they need to be dealt with. i mean rules exist for a reason. some forums have rules that are there to protect the harmony of the site. i view it as censorship which prevents real or deep conversation, but some fans need the assurance that they wont see anything negative in order to feel safe, and some forums subscribe to that belief. if a person cant abide by forum rules they should leave that forum

I can respect that too. Different people take things differently though, so a little give and take sometimes becomes necessary because some people do take things personally and get really upset.
But there does exist an Unpopular Opinions thread so feel free to let loose there, and of course PMs are fair game lol.

Thanks, I'm glad too! I wasnt always like this. I often used to hurt myself on others' words. If there was any judgment or negativity around I would certainly go wallow in it. If people said my art wasn't that good - or if they even just implied it - I was mad. If they said my groups were stupid I was mad. If they said the songs I liked were ugly I was mad. It took a lot of work and time for me to realize that i needed to put my opinion above theirs. Way above theirs. That's where it belongs. Because ultimately what I think is the only thing that matters. Since I decided that, I've had a pretty peaceful existence. But I still see a lot of turmoil in the fandom and fanwars so I work hard to not step in any of it

i dont think i had plans of really expressing opinions of any kind here. i am just here because, well, i get bored lol but i also didn't know this is the type of forum where only flattery is allowed. that's honestly a good reason for me to not come back lol

ah ok. because there are some forums where if any negative opinion or any conflict comes up they will close the thread. they'll be like "i dont like where this is going; thread closed!" lol so i thought it was like that here. glad its not

Some people are just assholes and don't care that they're upsetting people for no good reason and probably enjoy it. Some people get a god complex with the anonymity of being online and feel like they can act however they want without consequences and get high off it, but if the majority of these people got exposed to their family they'd probably be disowned. And to be honest even if the idols (or just anyone) that are being targeted never see the comments, I still think it's a huge problem because that malice comes from deep down inside a person and they'd rather just boil themselves in a pit of their own hatred rather than just take a deep breath and let it go. I think it's okay to get angry and vent sometimes but the vast majority of bashing is just people acting out of malice rather than any pent up frustration. The fact that so many people like this exist is just really depressing to me, like they could be worse like they're not breaking any laws or anything by posting some shitty comments but still there's just no point in being an asshole. Express ur negative opinions but aint no reason to drag someone to filth.

Tbh, I feel pity for those who try to spread hate trying to bash other people, groups, or anything in general. You must have a very boring life or a very ugly heart to do this, so that's why I feel sorry for people like this.
