It's rlly new(this century/millennium only) n only certain cinema chains/branches-i live in S.E.A. a country sized comparable to either New Mexico(smaller) or California(slightly bigger) with population ard 35million ppl but the country is divided in middle by a sea. So there are a few cinema chains now but not all serve chicken, but maybe chicken hot dogs or popcorn n snacks at most cinemas. Also new movies come out same week as US/UK whereas before 20/30/40 yrs ago it was later(which led to rampant piracy/videotapes/DVD until streaming during last 10/15/20 yrs ok maybe DVD piracy lessened ard 7 yrs ago or so but streaming/internet piracy here picked up 10/15 yrs ago(I just nvr noticed it much cuz I dint look for it/it dint pop up in my tl/fyp but ard 2019 it was everywhere tat I noticed internet show piracy without even looking. I still prefer watching new movies in cinema if I'm not busy/stressed out from work-saw Superman, F1, Jurassic Rebirth, FF 1st steps all in cinema recently, tho lately might not hv much later this yr to anticipate/work getting busier/stressed out so I might not watch much in 2025H2 in cinema as I did in 2025H1/2024H1+H2. I'll probably still watch the movies I anticipate eventually but not in cinema so no chicken nugs+sausage platter as I don't usually eat when i watch anything on my phone[I currently hv no TV nor getting a tv anytime in future I think)

tbh chicken seems like good cinema food.
Honestly, I used to go to the movies before covid like every 3 months, but not anymore.
Prices have doubled and last time I went, there were a bunch on teenagers talking and checking their phones throughout the movie so it's not worth the money

when i want candy, i go to the store first and sneak it in
did find a historic movie theatre that has a few choices of chips and candy for a reasonable price, but they show movies like a month after premiere

Rn I only go to shows before 12 noon or on Wednesdays when it's cheapest, occasionally I did go before 6pm at a nearby cinema before it closed(it was practically empty before 6pm almost all last yr).

I used to go for midnight shows n weekend shows during 2000-2017/201 n squeeze amongst almost full house when I was eager/working cuz those were the days when movies started showing same week as US or 1 week before US(cuz piracy) before tat it was a bit later maybe weeks/mths/yr(s) later in the 80s/90s(I think, there was no internet or box office mojo to rlly know when a movie came out in US except thru newspaper(I'm not sure when Star Wars Special Edition of episodes IV, V & VI came out here but I know it was same year as US but other than that I'm not sure. SWEI phantom menace in 1999 musta come out nearly same time as US but internet was new-ish then so everyone knew abt most new movies then. Independence Day, Matrix(1) same/similar ig(tho idk if it was same week as US or just around same time. My peeve was Pixar movies or animated movies ard 2000-2008/9 or later wouldnt be in cinemas here for mths after US release so I tried to watch early(-ier) by dvd[pirated]. Can't rmbr which exactly except Monsters vs Aliens or sthg like tat.

the theater i go to has a cafe inside so i buy a cup of green tea there and then cheese flavored popcorn or basic salted one. i used to buy tortilla chips as well but unfortunately after covid they kinda fell off so i just stick to popcorn having 25% off on all snacks thanks to my unlimited movie pass is really a blessing, but tbh snacks in shops around me got so expensive these days that i barely feel a difference

Hey, i always bring fruit snacks or a granola bar abyways in my ourse so if i haven't r already eaten it earlier in the day, i usually eat it when I'm watching thw movie
