A cookbook focusing on the cuisine of a Latin American country, or Latin American fusion. I was recently talking with @Nina and realized I know very little about Latin American food, and now I’m curious about it. I could google stuff, and I will at some point, but cookbooks have a benefit of having a lot in one place, and also are usually less fusion, or when they are, they state it more clearly. Like in my cookbook of Chinese food from an immigrant who grew up in both China and the US, he makes it no secret that its fusion, given where he lives, and sometimes he explains how his recipes compare to the more common interpretations in his region of China where he lived vs the ones he makes. And if you’re wondering, his fusion is nothing like what you’d find in a Chinese buffet here or anything Online it’s easier to come across recipes that are very fusion but not really mentioning the influences as clearly.

The flavors definitely vary from region to region but many of the base dishes are similar.
A good dish to start with and always a favorite. Rice and beans
