Whether you want to add a letter to replace a letter or letter combination, add a letter so another letter isn’t pulling double duty, or you just think it looks cool, anything goes The letters can be made up or borrowed from other languages.

I’d steal this letter from Thai: ช. It would make the ch sound, and then I’d chuck out c because it’s stupid. It’s distinct looking, so it wouldn’t really be at risk of being mistaken for another letter. And I hate c. So it’s perfect

half the time we can use the letter C to represent the "k" sound

and the other half it's like silent as per knight and knife

Add ક્ષ It’s a gujju consonant. Pretty much the same in Sanskrit with just a hair line of a difference क्ष
Soups cute to look at.
It makes similar to a sh sound. In the word Raksha bandha. It would be where ksh is. The k is more subtle for that letter.

On its own it doesn’t make its own unique sound, and therefore can always be replaced the s or the k. Sometimes you can tell in a word which sound it makes. Many times you can’t. That’s why it’s stupid. It makes a unique sound when partnered with h (often, though exceptions exist, like when ch make the k or sh sound) but why tf do we add a letter that makes an unknown sound in unknown words already taken care of by other letters just to use it in combination with another letter to make a sound, and not even always? It’s just such a silly letter It’s like it we add a letter that looks like ㅔand said, “yeah that letter makes an a sound or an i sound, but when you add a p after it makes the or sound, except when it doesn’t”. That would be absurd, but that’s the letter c in English
