I think a true K-pop fan is just someone who supports their favs in whatever way they can. You don't have to have all the merch or go to every concert to be a real fan - just listening to their music is enough for me.

I would only call myself a real fan if I atleast own an album of the group I like else I'd feel not worthy to be called a fan if I just watch MV's and stream on Spotify, but that is just me.

To me a true fan also does not blindly follow their groups and has the balls to also say when they do not like something. Just because you love a group or are a huge fan doesn't mean you cannot be a critic and have your own opinion. I gave my opinion before about some copy paste MV and I was deemed a hater for saying that. Which is ironic since it wasn't even directed towards the group since it was MV related so yeah.

I feel a true kpop fan supports the group in ways and aren't crushing the fandom.
like it's not fair to tell someone they aren't a fan just because they just started to stan or they don't like this song or they have an option about that
you don't have to be a crazy fan and talk about the group a lot and you don't have to buy merch or listen to EVERY SINGLE song of the group ( but that'd be fun lol ) and you don't have to like every decision they have made
