What makes you feel appreciated? (1 Viewer)

I get my audiobooks and podcasts confused, so somewhere between the two, this question came up, and it occurred to me again this morning.

For me, at work, it's an acknowledgement of my contributions without giving credit to people who did nothing. Because I support other people, sometimes I get "Bob and centen did a really good job with X" when all Bob did was not stop me from actually doing X. I don't mind sharing credit when it's due, but when it was 100% me, then I feel appreciated when the full depth of my contribution is recognized.

With friends or family, it's getting a little something, like even a text that's like "I heard this and thought of you." There's something really cool about existing for people when you aren't around to physically remind them of your existence.

That's good to know! I've been trying lately to be more proactive in telling people the nice things I think, because I know I can't read their minds either. And it's nice to have an unprompted "hey, it made me really happy when you did..."

It does go a long way to compliment someone
