I can't reacg a conclusion no matter how much I think. Is it that they didn't meet pledis' sales expectation?
There are a lot of groups who make a living while staying mid tier till end of their career. Heck 9muses and dal shabet both fed their whole companies being mid tier breadwinners their whole career. Pristin's sales were alright,even if they didn't hit big.

I can't blame it on kyla either. One member not meeting Korea's beauty standards expectation can't be reason to kill the whole group. A tone of kpop idols received harsh critisism because of their looks previously.
Some like umji emded up successful no matter how much critisised they were. And diets and plot twists exist. It can't be reason to kill the whole group.

Im just so confused at why all this happened when nugus like stellar or berry good last for years and keep releasing stuff.

Its even more weird how they dont release a statement for afterschool disbandment after 5 years of being inactive and members leaving but pristin gets it

Because it's what Pledis does since as well as having After School and Pristin, they also had Hello Venus when they were a joint group with Fantagio. After that arrangement ended in 2014, Pledis just let the 2 members they had go and Fantagio still promoted Hello Venus until 2017, so once Pledis lose interest it seems like that's it.

Yeah the Kyla excuse has been BS from the start. Te execuse they didn't make enough money is strange too because not every group will hit it big right out of the gate and of the post IOI groups they were getting more recognition and praise.

I feel like it has more to do with Pledis not viewing girl groups as worthwhile investments. After school was their big group at one point but they basically let the group collapse.

they were the most anticipated post IOI group. it's strange disbanding them, if pledis bitch invested on them right they could've hit big. I think bitch pledis wants to focus more on the new girl group which has Kaeun in it. In short there's no reason it's just that lame excuse of a company being a lame excuse of a company

Well ig afterschool despite being big never had a huge fandom unlike seventeen and that made seventeen more profitable so pledis stopped caring abt ggs

Idk if they can manage kaeun or the new group any better lol. Pinky and nayoung used to be as popular or more back in 2016.

I think there's another company which will co-manage the group thank god. so hopefully they won't end up like pristin. such waste of talent, money, time, hope and training years

The hopeful side of me thinks that Pledis staff got sick of the protests (post-it notes all over their building) from HIghs and decided to just release them, since we were all getting pissed seeing Xiyeon graduate without being recognized as a celebrity as well as Roa attending her musical without a manager, but then I think of how k-HIghs said that Pledis staff laughed at their post-its and took them down.

Pledis is a shit company, and all that we can do now is celebrate. Even if I cannot fathom why Sungyeon & Yehana would stay with that trash company, I will only continue supporting them and all 10 girls who used to be called Pristin.

Stone Ent/ CJ enm, the media company that produced the shows that formed iz*one and fromis hired pled is to train/produce for those groups. They operate out of pledis facilities. Pledis execs probably thought let's go for the guaranteed payday instead of risking money on pristin. So that probably contributed to why they treated them so poorly. Money move.
