What precautions do you take when driving in rain? (1 Viewer)

You can include obvious ones and not obvious ones

If it’s more mild rain, headlights and wipers come on and we slow down to an appropriate speed for rain. If it’s a downpour, we also sometimes turn on our hazard lights when driving (the ones that flash). I can’t think of anything else off the top of my head.

checking mirrors more often
turning around and being aware of one's surroundings

Slow, lots of extra space. Follow a bigger truck when on the freeway. Change lanes as little as possible. Plan any turns, lane changes or stops well in advance. I've never had an accident, 1 speeding ticket and 1 cell phone ticket in 30 years of driving.
