There is this guy in one of my college classes that told me that he likes me. We're not friends but we've known each other for some time. I can tell that he's joking though because of his reputation and how he said it to me. A popular guy doesn't come up to someone like me. This has happened before where people pretend that they like me just to hurt me right after. It's normally because they feel pity for how ugly I look, or they just want an easy target who's depressed and insecure. I have no attraction to him at all but I'm so desperate that I want to say yes. I think what hurts is that my heart will get broken either way, once again. If I say yes, I'll just be waiting for him to break up with me and I'll know he doesn't actually like me. If I say no, I'll continue being lonely, but I'll also regret it. I sound like a teenager when it comes to relationships
I just want to end it all at this point, I'm so done.

You're better off alone than in a relationship with someone you don't find attractive. I've been there and done that and trust me it's worse and more mentally damaging.

nothing should be so unbearable that " I want to run onto the street and get run over. " that's suicidal tendencies and way beyond KPS' pay grade...
I understand loneliness can be really difficult but not to this extent...

regardless of whether you date this person or not you should work on yourself first...
be the best naevis you can be - build up your self-confidence etc etc

Even if you do regret I think it's worth being lonely for a little while and finding the right person instead of being in a realtionship with someone who you have no feelings for at the moment.
And you said that he's asking you out because he joking???! Hell no. I know I don't know you but I don't want you to feel sad over this jerk he's not worth it.
