Ok, he's 14. That might explain his behaviour. Because of his age I wouldn't call him an idiot, he's just immature emotionally. Or in other words: When I was 14 I was such type of 'idiot' too.

You could show some interest in his lifestyle. You could listen to some bands he likes as a conversation starter. When you are around 14 too, there will be probably many more 'fishes in the sea' until you'll find your 'Mr. Right'. Take your time, your life has just begun.

he could be super shy super shy... honestly teenage boys can be all bark but no bite maybe you could get closer to him so he regards you as a safe space and he'll be more willing to open up. or he could be afraid of rejection (like me ) so maybe you could somehow show him that he means a lot to you. OR he could be confused about his feelings in that case maybe you should give him more time to sort out his emotions. remember, communication is important! good luck and keep us updated!!
