May vary for dogs and cats ofc
For me:
If I call my dogs name my dog will come running.

If I call my cats name my dog will come running 95% of the time. My cat will be nowhere in sight unless we’re standing by the cabinet where we keep string (and other stuff). But if he ever sees us by there he comes running of his own accord, name or no name

nothing. my cat is a diva, she doesn't listen except when you're opening her food and putting it in her bowl

her ear will twitch and she may even look at my direction, but that's about it. she's a pretty lazy doggo.
