Not at all vegetarian friendly, and they sneak meat/fish into random items; I bought a "potato and egg salad sandwich" at the airport. There were bits of fish in it. I ate it anyway. That sandwich is not the reason I was sick when I got home.

I figured that, since I was going to be in Seoul for nine days, I should go to more than one concert; I got tickets for the entire series of three. I purchased two short-sleeved jerseys, two long-sleeved jerseys, two mini cross-body bags, two cell phone lanyards (which I won't use for a cell phone; I'll put my work badge on it in case I ever have to go back to the office), and one pack of temporary tattoos. I purchased duplicates so that I can have one of each for the collection and still wear/use the useful items.

I had originally booked a goshiwon (small room with a shared kitchen/bathroom) for nine days. They lost my reservation, but had a room available for seven days. The room was small enough that I could reach across the room with my cane and turn off the light. The big advantage of the loss of reservation was that I could spend the last two days of my trip in a three-star hotel in Gangnam that included breakfast.

Most parts of Seoul have at least one coffee shop per block; some parts of Gangnam actually have three. If you travel to Seoul and forget something, Daiso is your best friend. I made pilgrimages to both the Gangnam Style statue and the P Nation building.

I think I caught the flu somewhere on public transit. According to my co-workers, they've been catching the same thing, so either the world infectious disease specialists didn't predict the right flu strain or the strain we were vaccinated against mutated.

The only meals I ate at the hotel were breakfast, and they had western breakfast foods. I had scrambled eggs, bread (too impatient for toast), orange slices, rambutan, and rice. I wanted to try the porridge, but the first day it had tuna and the second day it had mussels.

You know who else was surprised that there was a Gangnam Style statue? Psy.

Have some rambutan.

I know exactly what a rambutan is - it's one of my fav foods
I don't know if there's a group for them but I really like longons, lychees and rambutans (sometimes it's hard to get rambutans down under)
